Outside my window... Our garden, beautiful blue skies, and dragonflies!


I am thinking... about the nightgown I am going to sew for my cousin who is visiting us this week.


I am thankful for... the wind... it is quite hot these days, but the wind this morning is delightful! Thank you Lord!


From the kitchen... Breakfast dishes, and LOTS of apricots!


I am wearing... Chore clothes... A heather gray Handi-Riders tee shirt, and a long denim skirt.


I am creating... sewing projects, in my mind. :)


I am going... nowhere today!


I am reading... my Bible, and Hood.


I am hoping... to bake something today, probably something containing apricots.


I am hearing... the kids playing, the wind blowing, and the garbage truck.


Around the house... Sam climbing on his barn, Ethan getting the mail, rooms to tidy up.


One of my favorite things... when the dragonflies come for the summer!


A few plans for the rest of the week: Joe & Ethan's birthday on Wednesday, a party for them on Friday, maybe some farmers market on Saturday.

my 100th post and the poor cookies

Yay! This is my one hundredth post! Now on to the poor cookies...

They were found this morning, at the scene of the crime. Their noses had been eaten, and they had been stabbed with a Phillips head screwdriver.

Their fellow reindeer looked on, unharmed.

meet Handsome and Sweetie

These are our Livestock Guardian Dogs, Handsome (the male) and Sweetie (the female). They are Great Pyrenees/Anatolian crosses. They are huge, wonderful dogs! They live with and guard our goats.

They also guard the baby.

Making Paper Chains

Perhaps the simplest of all Christmas crafts. Paper chains. Today the boys and I made lots of them. Although most of you probably know how to, I decided it would be fun to make a little tutorial of how to make them.

Cut a piece of construction paper in half. And yes, that is a baby foot and hand in the corner.

Fold one of the pieces in half. Crease.

Cut on fold. Yes, that would be the baby again. Why is his suit un-snapped?

Take a picture of your cute little brother.

Fold the cut piece in half. Crease.

Cut on fold.

Now you have strips of paper.

Glue (the messiest and prettiest way), tape, or staple (the easiest way, but you can see the staples) the strips together,

until the chain is as long as you want it.

Good morning! Can you believe it? It's December 2!!!! Only 23 more days till Christmas! I have so much to make, and do, and decide. Today I am going to start priming my room. I want to get at least one wall done.
Last night Bryan and Rachel came over. I made Chocolate Sheet Cake. It is the best!!! (I will link to the recipe later.)

Smelly Spit-up

I was going to write a post this morning, after doing the dishes and taking a shower. But life happens. Sam was cranky, so I put him in the sleepy wrap so Mom could get ready for the day. I can't do the dishes with him in the sleepy wrap, so I sat down to blog. Then, Sam spits up all over me. Yuck. So now I am waiting to give him a bath, and get cleaned up myself. Perhaps I will find time to blog later?

Sorry. I have been neglecting my blog. I have some things I want to say, but when I try and write them down, it never turns out how I want it to. Oh well. One of these day's I will actually blog stuff people want to read! Hopefully. So if I can't blog anything interesting, how about some links? And a cute picture of Sam. *smiles*
