hello all!

Sorry about the unintentional bloggy break. It was nice, but it's good to be back. July has come and gone, and here is August!
The Birthday season is past; all of us kids are a year older now! I'm 16, Sam turned 2, then Jake turned 14, and now Joe and Ethan are 9!
We've been enjoying fresh peaches and nectarines from Farmer's Market. Yum!
Our garden is starting to give us tomato's!!! I will post pictures soon.
We have started painting our living room, pictures of that to come too. And, we are having some remodeling work done, but our plumber woes are over I think. Gary, our contractor found some guy named Steve who seems to have staying power. :) A whole post on that to come.
I have some fun things I want to do on here this month, so, stay tuned! For now I will leave you with these ramblings that don't make any sense.

have a wonderful, sunny day!

a handmade gift

For my Mom's birthday, I embroidered the word "home" and words describing home; cozy, tidy, relaxing, happy, pretty, and peaceful.
note: i was still working on it when this photo was taken, so not all the words are there.

tired

The choir I am in participated in a choir festival today. It was fun! We were at a church from 8:45 am to 3:00 pm. Quite a long day! :) But we all had a great time. Fifteen of us did it (there are 18 in our choir). It was great hanging out with some girls (me being surrounded with brothers and all:). We range from eighteen to six, and I think that it's wonderful that we all can spend a day together, everyone getting along and stuff. It was funny changing into our performance clothes in the bathroom, with ten girls chit chattering away. We got a little loud at one point. :) After it was all over, Moriah, Faith, Abi and I were looking for our parents, and Moriah ran strait between a lady who was filming (for TV!) one of the choir directors and her choir! :D Abi and I decided to not go running on to television, and took a different route. Lol.

Now I sit here, worn out. Looking forward to church tomorrow, rubbing my aching feet (you wanted to know that, i know you did) and, um, typing!

and so, goodnight.

Thank You!

To all of you invisible friends,
Who stop by,
Leaving an encouraging word,
Or a simple hello.
Thank you.
And if you don't say anything,
Please do!
I would love to "meet" you.
Love, Me

sick :(

That's what I am.
Sick.
Sick of being sick!
And three of my brothers.
For a week now,
starting with Ethan.
Then Sam,
then me,
then Joe.
Fever, aching body,
sick eyes, and a horrible cough.
Today we seem a little better.
sneeze
But the allergies!
Once the sickness is subsiding a bit,
sneeze
our allergies seem real bad today.
At least mine.
Ugh.
Sweet spring.
But it feels more like summer.
We have our air conditioner on!
sneeze
For the last few days
all I have done is lay on the couch.
Watching movies,
eating when I could.
I must get better.
Soon.

belated Easter post

Sam enjoying some "tandy".

On Sat. we went to some friends' grandparents house. There were lots of family's that we knew their. The older kids hid, then the young ones hunted. :) After the hunt the dads and kids all went down to the river and sling shotted (how do you say that???) rocks into the river. My Dad and two other dads shot one all the way across the river! Then the kids all waded and got wet.

On Sunday we had a wonderful church service (well, every Sunday is wonderful). After church we went to lunch with my great aunt, Nana, Pops, and uncle. After lunch we went home and relaxed, then went to Pat and Andi's in the evening for pizza, soda pop, and fellowship.

new goats

On Saturday we went and picked up two new goats. They are Mini Nubian's. They are both due in March; we will have fresh goats milk again! I took some more pictures of when we got them, but I will share them later as I need to go make dinner.

This is Mini Bits.

Look at her belly!

Here is Butterscotch. Isn't she cute?

my 100th post and the poor cookies

Yay! This is my one hundredth post! Now on to the poor cookies...

They were found this morning, at the scene of the crime. Their noses had been eaten, and they had been stabbed with a Phillips head screwdriver.

Their fellow reindeer looked on, unharmed.

The perpetrator 'fesses up.

It's beginning to look a lot like Christmas!

our Christmas tree decorated with white lights, wooden cranberry garland, cardinal birds, and soon to come... popcorn chains and ornaments!

This picture doesn't do our tree justice. The blurriness bugs me!!! Ah! Anyways, some of us wanted to just leave it the way it was, (it is beautiful!) but the twins wanted ornaments. So I better go help decorate!

Great Grandfather

My Grandfather served as a Private First Class in the 343 Infantry Regiment, 86th Infantry Division of the US Army during WWII. He was killed in action on April 29, 1945 during a battle on the Inn River while his platoon was advancing into Friesing, Germany. He returned fire on about 50 German soldiers while other members of his platoon moved into a better position to drive the enemy away. His Sergeant stated in a letter to my Grandmother that, ‘Manuel kept fighting after he was hit several times. I can say that he was a very brave man and that probably several men owe their life to him.’ He was awarded the Bronze Star and Purple Heart for his service. It is because of men like him that we have the freedoms we have today. As a family, we want to say thank you to all the men and women that have served and are currently serving our nation. This is a picture of my Grandparents taken July 1, 1940.

This was written by my Father (who doesn't have a blog - yet).
